At Corner Space, three paintings are currently on view from a new series in which the work searches for something fragile yet powerful. Something that grows for its own sake in the dark chambers of the forest, vital and poisonous at the same time. The paintings move into the dimness heart first, following trails that veer away from the path and lead onward toward clearings and marshes, forest eyes beneath an open sky.

Jenny Carlsson Grip works as if conducting a kind of field study, with hands in the soil and her gaze fixed on the blue of the distance. The brushstrokes and the colours seem to have rested among the trees through an entire season. The ground breathes, and the trunks answer the call of the heart.

På Corner Space visas just nu tre målningar ur en ny serie av Jenny Carlsson Grip. Verken söker efter något skört men samtidigt urstarkt — något som växer för sin egen skull i skogens mörka kamrar, friskt och giftigt på samma gång. Måleriet rör sig in i dunklet med hjärtat först, följer stigar som viker av från leden och öppnar sig mot gläntor och kärr, skogsögon under öppen himmel.

Jenny Carlsson Grip närmar sig måleriet som ett slags fältstudie, med händerna i jorden och blicken fäst vid avståndets blå. Penseldragen och färgerna tycks ha vilat bland träden genom en hel årstid. Marken andas, och stammarna svarar mot hjärtats rop.
