TRULS MELIN (born 1958 in Malmö) lives and works in Copenhagen. He studied at Malmö Art Academy Forum 1978-79 and at the Royal Danish Art Academy in Copenhagen 1979-1984. 

Melin represented Sweden in the Nordic Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 1993 and the 8th Biennale of Sydney 1990 and has exhibited widely both in Sweden and abroad. To mention a few: Lunds Konsthall; Magasin III, Stockholm; Malmö Konsthall; Malmö Konstmuseum; Göteborgs Konstmuseum; Göteborgs Konsthall; Eskilstuna Konstmuseum; The Wanås Foundation; Kulturhuset, Stockholm; Rooseum, Malmö; IASPIS Galleriet, Stockholm; Krefelder Konstmuseen, Germany; DAAD Gallery, Berlin;  Overgaden, Copenhagen; Norrtälje konsthall; Kristianstads konsthall; Dunkers kulturhus, Helsingborg; Galleri Lars Bohman, Stockholm; Galleri Magnus Åklundh, Malmö; Galleri Arnstedt, Östra Karup; Charlottenborg Konsthall, Copenhagen, Würtenbergischer Kunstverein, Stuttgart; Galleri Sten Eriksson, Stockholm; Galleri Lång, Malmö etc

As the first Swedish visual artist he received the prestigious DAAD grant in Berlin in 1994. He also received numerous awards such as Friends of Moderna Museet Sculpture Prize 2007 and 2006 Barbro & Holger Bäckströms fellowship etc

Melin is represented at, among others, Moderna Museet, Stockholm; Malmö Konstmuseum; Magasin III, Stockholm; Göteborg konstmuseum; Norrköpings Konstmuseum, Ståhl Collection, Norrköping etc. Some of his public commissions include: Mentalt sällskap, Magasin III, Stockholm; Paddehattar, in Genarp; Drömskeppet, CRC, Malmö University Hospital; and Untitled, Kanaanabadet, Grimsta etc
