TILDA LOVELL

Tilda Lovell works in a variety of media, including sculpture, installation, drawing and video. She creates parallel worlds and dimensions, inhabited by creatures and spirits, where there is an ongoing exploration of belonging and existence. She creates her beings by bits and pieces she has founds in nature around her house, a branch from a tree, a skeleton from a bird, a stone etc. Tilda Lovell offers her creatures a platform by building sublime landscapes as sceneries for them to inhabit. Tilda Lovell often combines sound and light in her work, as well as physical or digital kinetic details, bringing the odd and often mysterious beings to life. There is a strong presence of empathy in the artistry of Tilda Lovell, a sense of acceptance as well as wonder and delight in the meeting of the unknown. Nevertheless, the sculptures often surprise the viewer with a great amount of humor.
